JIV Manila   "Art for a Meaningful Life."

HomeWhat is "JIV Manila"?May 15, 2008
JIV Manila is an art group that specializes in "New Age" artworks, or "art for the age of Aquarius" --paintings inspired by universal principles and philosophy. These artworks are unique by the energies they evoke and the purposes they serve where they are placed, the details of which are associated with every colour and visual element of JIV's one-of-a-kind compositions.

.For inquiries contact the group art agent: STANLEY FERNANDEZ landline 425-8499, mobile 0922-3786959 and 0908-3269884

We are:

Juno Paruñgao

Juno teaches in the University of the Philippines Diliman and is the co-founder of JIV MANILA. Outside of work, she's also a certified "cartomancer" or tarot card reader and horary practitioner. She pioneers esoteric art using her wide grasp of Astrology & Symbology which helps set JIV Manila apart. Juno's favourite mediums are oil pastel and watercolour; two mediums that require a good deal of discipline, that she uses to conjure her stunning and intriguing art.

Ivan Basit

Ivan or "Ice" is a graphic designer, photographer and art director for a studio he co-owns with friends. A true colour freak and a fan of visual poetry and conceptual art, Ice uses his mastery of the colour palette to compose vivid images that allure. His favorite medium is acrylic; not too wet, takes a short time to dry, and splendidly rich in pigment. He co-founded JIV Manila with Juno.

Lito Casaje

. A theater/film practitioner. Lito's art is essentially fauvist - experimental, playful, exploring raw expressions and subtleties.

Liezl Buenaventura

Liezl is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Fine Arts who double-majored in Visual Communication-Adverstising and Studio Arts-Painting. Her medium of choice is acrylic and her pieces range from classic single canvases to sprawling diptychs.

Alain Austria

Alain’s embrace to the artistic path came about a year ago after his life-changing encounter with Jungian depth analysis. Since then, his works have become preoccupied with the imagery of the ‘inner terrain of the psyche’.

Claude Sta. Clara

A dynamic cosmopolitan artist who experiments with various ways of sculpting figures. His U.P. engineering background allows him to create perfect figures and details.

Joel Caballero

Is also a graduate of the University of the Philippines. He gets his inspiration from music and nature. Joel's entry into JIV Manila is his first time to exhibit his works. The artists in the movies "Some Kind of Wonderful", "Great Expectations", and "New York Stories" inspired him to sketch and paint. He aspires to achieve the skill of Norman Rockwell or comic book artist Alex Ross. He is currently writing news stories for a cable news channel.

Norlie Meimban

He seriously became engrossed with anatomy as he was inspired by the expertise of Andrew Loomis. Norlie's strong influences aside from his father, came from the likes of Rembrandt, Dali, Van Gogh, Juan Luna and those who painted in the Impressionist and Expressionist styles. Sir Norlie is confident in using almost all media, including oil, pastel, acrylic, and graphite. He uses these different materials depending on his mood and the subject matter at hand. As an animator, Norlie is currently integrating concepts from animation into his art. The subject of time, movement, transformation and combination of spaces intrigue him. A series of works based on these are underway for his upcoming art exhibits.

Rex Rosco

He is currently taking Fine Arts in the University of the Philippines. Infusing the seemingly opposing concepts of realism and surrealism has always been the undertone of Rex's art. Self-taught and passionate, he got interested in painting at a young age after being captivated by all things visual. This Filipino-Canadian translates his works of different mediums into products of attention to detail, precision and meticulousness. But his instincts make sure they remain organic, elemental, and raw.
